Alert: Dr Armstrong's Retirement Message 31/3/25

It’s nearly 39 years since my medical career began but in the past few months I’ve been receiving medical care myself and have taken the difficult decision that, in the best interests of my own health and that of my family, the time has come to hang up my stethoscope.

I’ve had an interesting and fulfilling career both in the West Midlands region and Australia , and in the past 10 years it has been a privilege and pleasure to get to know and look after many people in the local area. I’m sorry I didn’t have the opportunity to personally inform you I would be leaving and say goodbye but know you’ll be in the hands of a group of clinically excellent , hardworking, caring and kind clinicians.

I would like to thank the great team of dedicated clinical and non clinical staff at Manor Practice for their ongoing hard work at a time when General Practice has never been under more pressure and particularly the outstanding Management team for their support and understanding over the difficult past few months .

The final thank you is to my brilliant colleagues and fellow GP Partners at the Manor Practice. It’s been wonderful to end my career in a GP partnership built on shared values of honesty, transparency, equality, mutual respect , a shared workload and most importantly a genuine desire to try and provide exceptional personalised care for patients, notwithstanding the constraints of the increasingly difficult circumstances that have affected Primary care for the past 10 years. I will miss working with you.

I wish everyone all the best and good health.
Fiona
